Sixth Sense Training is currently launching a new series of digital skills courses aimed at young people who are getting ready to leave school and considering a career in Information Technology.
We’ve applied for funding for the following digital skills opportunity and need your help to make it happen…
Our project is a series of distance learning classes designed to train youths in the skills of Digital Marketing. The course is designed to make use of the latest in digital learning technology to create a modern learning environment for Glasgow’s young people.
The course will be delivered over four weeks and will consist of virtual classes of 15 students. Along with a virtual classroom, we plan to make use of video lectures and our own custom built eLearning website which is full of interactive content that they can use to learn at their own pace in between lectures and assignments. The course will cover online marketing, how to promote business through social media and newsletters and will teach students how to build a professional and contemporary looking website using a popular web building platform. It will also cover search engine optimisation, keywords, adwords and other forms of paid adverts. This course will equip youths with the skills necessary to move into an IT role with the prospect of gaining a vocational qualification.
We are very excited about the prospect of working with young people so early on to harness natural ability and give them the opportunity to develop into industry professionals. During the program, we will present digital skills career choices as achievable, worthwhile goals to set. It’s our objective to provide each trainee with at least one career option on completion of the program. These career options can range from admin and digital marketing to technical IT apprenticeships.
